PRIORITIES

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND EMPOWERMENT

  • Workforce resources, technical training and education

  • Collaboration with diverse stakeholders to strategically tackle our big challenges/issues pertaining transportation, housing, education, and workforce.

  • We need anchor (major) businesses and restaurants just like our surrounding counties.

  • Lower property taxes, more sales tax revenue, lower utility bills.

  • Stop fraud, waste, and abuse.

  • Safe communities for all people; especially our youth and seniors.

  • Mental and physical health improvement strategies and facilities.

  • Mentorship/Training Program for home owners and renters to decrease high rate of foreclosure and eviction.

JUDITH COTTEN

Judith Lynne Cotten is a Brooklyn, New York native and became a Clayton County resident upon retiring from the U.S. Army in June 2001. Judith joined the U.S. Army in November 1980 and served in the Administrative and Legal fields while serving with Military Intelligence, Military Police, and the Judge Advocate General Corp (JAG) branches before retiring honorably from Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Post retirement, Judith is a licensed Realtor and Realist in various states with 24+ years of experience. She’s a Broker/Owner of two full service Real Estate firms, Property Management division, licensed Real Estate Instructor, owner of a Real Estate Academy, and an ‘Empowerment and Legacy” licensed Life Coach. Judith is a licensed Life and Health Insurance Producer for 15+ years and Owner of New Vision Agency. Judith serves as the Chairwoman for the Clayton County Land Bank Board, member on the Clayton County Veterans Advisory Board, Clayton County Election Poll Manager, and Mentor for Clayton County Veterans Treatment Court. In 2020, Judith became a lifetime member of the National Association of Black Military Women and is currently serving a second term as the National Secretary, President for the Metropolitan Atlanta Chapter (NABMWATL), and Regional Director for Member-at-Large. October 2023, Judith established Omicron Nu Xi Military Sorority, Inc. where she serves as a lifetime member, Founder, and National President; Founder of Omicron Nu Xi Military Auxiliaries, Inc., and Founder of Omicron Nu Xi Global Military Sorority & Auxiliaries, Inc. known as “ONΞ” while serving our local civilian and military communities stateside and abroad. 
In December 2023, Judith received the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from President Biden and June 2024, Judith received her Honorary Doctorate degree in Humanitarianism. Judith is a member of and volunteers tirelessly with Omicron Nu Xi Global Military Sorority & Auxiliaries, Inc.; Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.; National Association of Black Military Women, Inc.; Veterans of Foreign War Post 12180; American Legion Post 258; AMVETS Post 911; National Council of Negro Women; AARP #5440; Mission Continues; Prince Hall Affiliated - Oklahoma Jurisdiction Order of the Eastern Star, Heroine of Jericho, Heroines of the Templar Crusades, and Golden Circle; Daughters of Isis; and a faithful servant at Shiloh Baptist Church Jonesboro where she serves as the Trustee’s Chairwoman, Pastor’s Executive Administrator, and in the Media Department. Judith’s current endeavor involves her sense of community engagement and civic duty as a candidate for Clayton County District 4 Commissioner. Judith resides in Jonesboro, Georgia and has one adult son, Dequan.
